It's the morning of Harvey's operation. They're going to remove a lump
from his groin that he's known about for months but which he only
recently showed to a doctor. The doctor said it could be a hernia. Or
it could be lymphoma. That's Joyce's brother Tod, who'd dropped into
town the week before, going to get her some coffee.
